Swiss Army Bayonets No Longer A Weapon

Who could have thought that the Swiss Army brand would become a house hold name on a world wide level when the company began supplying its most famous officers knives to the Swiss army? Over the years the company launched an range of new products and has become one of the most revered and respected brands with its arms spreading in many different directions.

Many people are loyal fans of Swiss Army products as observed over the years. Amongst the more popular items are the bayonets, these are quite antique in their make and are a Swiss Army collectors dream. These bayonets are now available as army surplus items and are dream for the every collector and they treasure it lifelong.

The Bayonet belongs to the family of knives. It is primarily a dagger that fixes into the top muzzle of a gun perfectly. This transforms the rifle into a spear like weapon immediately during the time of crisis of ammo. Thus, it was a unique and excellent creation during war-time created especially to be used in such situations.

Thus the bayonet was a useful gear and served the purpose of being extremely uselful during a war when the transformed rifle would be the last resort for combat. These helped not only Swiss armies but also other armies during that time. It helped the soldier to defend himself during attack by his enemies even if he had run out of bullets. During the time when war were fairly simpler the bayonet was a useful innovation.

Practically and unfortunately the demand for bayonets have fallen as modern-day warfare techniques bayonets in the past and now they sell them off to make some money.

Those who are interested in buying the bayonet can try their luck at the army surplus shops or look for them in the internet. Be careful the the original Swiss army bayonets contain a blade length of 9.4 inches and a holder that measures 4.8 inches.
